Afroditi Xydi is the Executive Director of Desmos Policy Institute – the first and only think tank of the Hellenic Diaspora. She co-founded the Institute together with other young Greek professionals to bridge the gap between the Hellenic Diaspora and Greek policy makers. Before that Afroditi was a management consultant with Strategy& in the Middle East.

She worked in Dubai, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia primarily advising national governments on setting policies across the sectors of energy, telecom, digitization. On the energy she front, she has advised national governments in developing their renewable energy and value-chain localization strategies, she has worked for both early stage and later stage investing funds investing in the energy transition, and has worked with software and deep-tech start-ups driving decarbonization. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins, a Master’s degree from MIT, both in environmental engineering, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School.
