Biography
Nikos Frydas is Vice President of Grant Thornton Business Advisory SA. His career spans more than 33 years of international experience in the energy sector. He specializes in the Design and Regulation of competitive Electricity Markets, and in new Business Models for power utilities in the energy transition era. His professional record includes working with major European Utilities (National Grid UK, PPC) and Energy Trading firms (EDF Trading, Merrill Lynch), and as member of the management team of ENTSO-E in Brussels. In the period of 2004-2007 he was appointed by the United Nations, as the first Chairman of the Regulatory Office of Kosovo, while subsequently he spent several years as senior staff member of the World Bank. Mr. Frydas is a Chartered Engineer in the UK’s Engineering Council, a Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, and member of the International Association of Energy Economists. He is a regular visiting Lecturer of “ESCP Europe”, in their London and Paris campuses.
