Biography

Glad Varga is a Romanian deputy of the National Liberal Party (NLP) elected for the second term, member of the Committee for environment and ecological balance and vice-president of the Committee for entrepreneurship and tourism within the Chamber of Deputies. His political career started early, being a local councilor of Arad City Council, and currently vice president of the NLP Arad county organization. As a member of the Romanian Parliament, Glad Varga initiated several legislative proposals in the fields of interest based on his educational background and expertise – environment, entrepreneurship, social protection, youth, sport. A part of them were adopted and became laws making a significant change for the improvement of the environment protection, promotion of the renewable energy. He is trained in project management, accessing funds and communication. His previous NGO work experience proved to be extremely helpful in raising the awareness on the present concerns on climate change and resource security. Under the circumstances of the current global context, during the last months, Glad Varga attended a postgraduate program on security and good governance at the National Defense University “Carol 1” from Bucharest and also he is currently attending the Faculty of Law within Vasile Goldiș” Western University of Arad. Ensuring the energy security of Romania by using renewable sources was the subject of his research during the mentioned postgraduate program. Also due to the national targets established by the Romanian Recovery and Resilience Plan, the activity of Glad Varga focuses nowadays on the dialogue with the public authorities representatives engaged in energy, environment, development and public works, in order to mediate and support entrepreneurs and representatives of local authorities in understanding and accessing the funds made available through various programs.
