Biography
Evangelos Courakis focuses mainly on energy law and additionally on international arbitrations, concessions and privatizations and contract negotiation and drafting (with focus on energy and construction). He is also very experienced in data protection issues, on which he regularly advises. He is heading the Energy Sector of the Firm and he is a Partner of the Firm since 2007.
He is being involved in energy related projects since 2004, with a particular focus on energy production from renewal sources. He is currently advising investors and developers with a pipeline of projects of more than 7 GWs. His department covers all aspects of project development (including SPAs / DSAs, land securing, and regulatory matters), from greenfield to sale after the commencement of operation.
Moreover, he is highly experienced in contact drafting and negotiation and he is ordinarily teaching this subject matter to legal professionals.
Evans is recognized by Chambers as having “extensive experience of traditional and renewable energy mandates, including advising investors on the acquisition of wind farms, and gas turbine developments” and as being a “trustworthy, well-versed energy lawyer”.
He has studied at the University of Athens and at Cambridge University.
